Hi i am the president of the melbourne university Japanese club. I am the second year Arts student, majoring in environmet studies and development studies. I am from Nagoya, which is located in the middle of Japan.Nagoya is famous for the red miso paste, which is used to make miso katsu (deepfried pork with miso sauce), miso nikomi (udon noodles with vegies and meat in tasty miso soup) and miso dengaku (grilled tofu with miso sauce).
I stayed in Sunbury (north west of melbourne) for 10 months as an exchange student when i was in year 11, and i had so much fun and picked up lots of English during that time. That is the reason i came back to melbourne to study:D
Apart from uni, i love to watch movies, to go shooping, and to do people-watching when i am bored. I also started teakwondo, and its been a great fun!

So… Yes I am new to the Japanese Club committee and I CERTAINLY like dealing with $$$. I am a 2nd year BA/BCom majoring in Linguistics, Japanese and Economics, and also a 1st year in DipMus. I have been learning Japanese for 8 years, and although I have only been to Japan once as part of a high school exchange, it was certainly one I would never forget. I’m planning on an exchange to Japan for next year and if anyone has any suggestions, please let me know!
Apart from MUJC and uni, I am currently working as a casual tutor at Strathcona Baptist Grammar and running my own string quartet playing for various functions. But for my spare time, I usually like picking up a textbook on any language, and try to learn a few lines for fun. So far I’ve spent a lot of time teaching myself Korean and Arabic, and hopefully many more to come. Hope you all enjoy the events MUJC has on offer this year, and I’d always love to get to know new people – so come and say Hi!

I've been to Japan a few times, once for a 3 month homestay in highschool, and I just recently went back for a holiday. I'm a big fan of J-dramas and Karaoke!!

I'm one who you could only call obsessed with modern Japanese culture, with a passion in Japanese Drama , Video Games and Music especially. I am a 4th Year Science Student (Ecology and Environmental Science) with a Diploma of Modern Languages in Japanese. I spend too much of my spare time watching cheesey Japanese Dramas; 'Hana yori dango' (Meteor garden) and 'Nobuta wo purodu-su' being my favourites. And most of my driving time is spent listening to KAT-TUN. Having only spent 2 weeks in Japan on a school exchange many years ago, I am itching to get back there, and am very excited to be a committee member this year.
